Health and Safety Inspections
Health and safety inspections are an important monitoring tool to ensure that hazards are managed and risks controlled to ensure that employees and others are free from harm. They should be carried out regularly by both internal and external staff.
Alban Safety can carry out full inspections at any or all of your premises. The inspection would cover all physical parts of the premises, as well as documentation on site and the activities undertaken at the time.
Thorough reports are produced that detail:
- Observations made and hazards identified
- Level of risk (High, Medium or Low)
- Any recommendations necessary to ensure ongoing legal compliance
Inspections of construction sites can be combined with toolbox talks to further provide evidence that the employer is fulfilling their legal obligation to provide adequate health & safety information and training to his employees and sub-contractors.
Reports can either be submitted electronically, or handwritten reports can be issued on site if required.
Health and Safety Audits
Alban Safety can assist businesses that require audits of their health and safety management system. This might be as simple as an inspection of the premises and a review of current health and safety documentation. A report is then issued detailing all observations and recommendations.
Larger organisations may be looking for an external audit check of their health and safety management system. Alban Safety ‘s management system audits are carried out against the requirements of UK legislation and the principles contained within Health and Safety Executive guidance on health and safety management systems, HS(G)65 “Managing for Health & Safety".
Following the audit, a prioritised action plan will be produced to guide any required improvements. We would be happy to assist with any recommendations if required, but this is totally up to the client and they are free to implement the recommendations without our assistance if required
